Doug Hudson established Feedback Sports in 2004 and the company’s first product was a digital scale for weighing bikes. They have expanded their catalogue over the years, and are perhaps best known for their line of workstands that can be found everywhere from the home garage, to bike shops, to pro race teams.

The Omnium portable trainer is Feedback’s newest product, it is adjustable, portable, stable, quiet, and high quality.

Comprising a tripod with an adjustable fork mount and a pair of aluminium drums on a sliding foldable arm, it accommodates a wide range of bikes (20" BMX, 26-29" MTB, 600-700c Road/CX). The adjustability of the Omnium extends to the fork mount, which can accept quick-release as well as 12mm and 15mm thru-axles.

The aluminium drum rollers utilize progressive magnetic resistance, however, owners have the option of converting the Omnium into a traditional set of rollers by simply unbolting the drums and reversing them in the frame.

Feedback sees the Omnium as the ideal trainer for racers that like to warm up before their event, hence its portability.

Weighing in at 6.21kg, folding down to just 66cm x 18cm x 20cm, and coming with a padded bag for storage and travel, the Omnium also meets TSA carry-on regulations – always an important concern for team directors, mechanics and athletes who travel.

The most impressive aspect is the stability of the Omnium. The fork mount is robust while the broad tripod is very sturdy and should resist fierce sprint efforts.

The drums utilise magnets to provide progressive resistance while remaining relatively silent, so the only noise comes from the air flow generated by the rear wheel. The design allows the drums to stay cool, minimizing tyre wear both at the races and for in-home use. As a bonus, this technology provides an inherently smooth ride.

The construction and finish of the Omnium is typical of Feedback Sports. Robust, well thought out, anodised, with quality fasteners throughout.
The drum bearings come greased and sealed, and Feedback promise they are maintenance-free.

A 3-year warranty provides peace of mind, and spare parts will be available should you manage to wear something out, or lose an axle adaptor.
