Registration and check-in
All riders must complete registration, including the required waiver and consents, and check in on arrival. Spaces are limited. Walk-ups may join if spaces remain and registration is completed before the cut-off.
Attend the briefing
You must attend the full rider briefing before departure. Riders arriving after the briefing has finished cannot join or chase the group into the forest.
Come ready to ride
A helmet is mandatory. Your bike must be in trail-worthy condition. Bring water and your usual riding essentials, and disclose any relevant medical conditions or allergies during registration or privately to the ride manager before departure.
Keep it social
This is a relaxed, no-race ride. Stay behind the lead rider and ahead of the sweep, follow the crew’s instructions and stop at all designated regroup points.
Ride within your limits
Mountain biking involves risks, including falls and collisions. Ride at a pace you are comfortable with and walk any section you are unsure about.
Respect other forest users
The trails remain shared with other riders and walkers. Give way, call ahead when passing and follow the crossing instructions explained at the briefing.
Tell us if you need help or leave early
Let a lead or sweep know if you are delayed, injured or unable to continue. If you withdraw, notify the ride lead or sweep and have your departure acknowledged before leaving - don't quitely peel off.
Check in at the finish
Check in with the Stan's crew before heading off so you can be marked as safely returned.
Riders under 18
A parent or guardian must complete the required participation, waiver and photography consents, and provide their name and contact number. Ideally, they should also be present on the day.
Photography and filming
Wide Open, representing Stan’s, will capture photos and video for their channels to promote Whaka 100. Consent is a condition of participation and is collected during registration. No images of incidents or injured riders will be used.
Changes or cancellation
The route or timing may change, or the ride may be cancelled, due to weather, trail conditions or event operations.
Your information
Registration details will be handled under Wide Open’s privacy policy and used to manage the ride, communicate updates and support rider safety. Marketing emails are optional and require a separate opt-in.
By registering, you confirm that you have read and agree to these ride rules and conditions.
