ENVE - FOUNDATION XC28 WHEELSET

Born from the development of the latest M Series and inspired by the proven durability of the AM30, the new XC28 brings ENVE's carbon expertise to riders who want high-end performance at a more accessible price. The XC28 is aimed directly at the needs of today's cross-country and trail riders who want a light, responsive, and durable wheelset.

While the AM30 has long delivered value for enduro and gravity riders, the XC28 is built to do the same for XC racers and trail riders. Optimized around a 2.4” tire, the XC28 borrows shaping cues from the M5 and M6 to strike the ideal balance of compliance and control. The result is a wheel that tracks confidently through rugged sections while maintaining the efficiency and responsiveness XC riders demand.

Approved for e-MTB systems up to 75 Nm, the XC28 brings ENVE’s lightweight carbon performance to modern low-power electric mountain bikes. WIDE HOOKLESS BEAD AND MOULDED SPOKE HOLES

Potholes and unforeseen impacts are part of life, but that doesn’t mean they need to ruin your ride. The XC28 features ENVE’s Wide Hookless Bead, which is a design element at the leading edge of the rim that dissipates impact energy and reduces the likelihood of pinch flatting your tubed or tubeless tyre.

Tubeless performance depends on the tire maintaining a light press-fit with the rim on the bead seat diameter. ENVE chooses a hookless tubeless rim profile as it allows the rim’s critical tolerance at the bead seat diameter to be both consistent and accurate. In short, hookless is chosen to deliver a safer and more reliable tubeless system.

ENVE’s patented process of molding spoke and valve stem holes results in rims that are stronger and lighter. Because carbon fiber gets its strength from continuous fibers, ENVE routes the fibers around the hole without cutting them, increasing the strength of each spoke hole. Because of this process, our spoke holes are capable of maintaining higher spoke tensions, greatly reducing the risk of spoke pull-through and the need to constantly true your wheels.
